This policy explains what personal data Keep It Green Garden & Waste Services collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have over it. It is written to the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Keep It Green Garden & Waste Services is the data controller for the information described here. We are a garden and waste services business operating from Plymouth and covering Devon and Cornwall.
You can reach us at Email us or on 07956 767320.
What we collect
- Enquiry details you give us — your name, phone number, postcode or town, email address, the service you are asking about, your message, and any photographs you choose to attach to the quote form.
- Cookie preference — whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies.
- Aggregate website analytics — see analytics and processors below.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, any special-category data (health, ethnicity, religious or political views and so on) or payment card details through this website.
Why we collect it
To reply to your enquiry, to prepare a quote, and to carry out the work if you go ahead. That is the whole of it. We do not sell your details to anyone, and we do not add you to a marketing list without asking.
Lawful basis
- Consent — for submitting the enquiry form, and for any non-essential analytics cookies. You give it by sending the form, or by pressing Accept on the cookie banner, and you can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interests — for the strictly necessary cookie that remembers your cookie choice, and for keeping basic records of quotes and jobs.
- Contract — where we are carrying out work you have booked.
Analytics and processors
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is aggregate and cookieless — it sets no cookies and does not track you across sites.
We also intend to use Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics does set cookies, and it will not run at all unless you accept non-essential cookies on the banner. The cookie policy lists those cookies and what they do.
The organisations that process data on our behalf are:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — website hosting, security and cookieless analytics.
- Resend — delivers the enquiry form to our inbox as an email.
- Google LLC — Google Analytics, only after you accept cookies.
- Google LLC — the email account we receive enquiries into.
Some of these providers operate outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred abroad it is protected by the safeguards required under UK data protection law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
Who we share it with
Nobody, beyond the processors above. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We would only disclose it if we were legally required to.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not turn into work — up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Records of jobs we have carried out — up to 6 years, which is the period we may need them for tax, insurance and any dispute.
- Your cookie preference — about 6 months, then you are asked again.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access)
- have inaccurate data corrected (rectification)
- ask us to delete it (erasure)
- ask us to restrict how we use it (restriction)
- object to us using it (objection)
- ask for it in a portable format (portability)
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it
Email Email us and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
