Our own work
Every photograph on this page is one of ours, taken on the job, and every job is shown both ways round.
Overgrown border cut out and the paving washed back to clean stone, with new edging along the run.
Weeds pulled out of every joint and the whole patio washed down to clean stone.
Down here everything goes green. It is the climate — mild, damp and rarely freezing hard enough to knock the algae back. A patio laid five years ago and never washed is a different colour to the one that was laid, and most people have stopped noticing.
Jet washing takes it back. Patios, block-paved and concrete drives, paths and steps, decking, walls, garden furniture, shed cladding — anything hard-surfaced that has gone green, grey or black.
This is the part that separates a good job from a damaged patio. Decking, older sandstone and soft brick will not take the pressure a concrete drive will. Go in flat out on everything and you lift the face off the slabs and leave decking boards furred and splintery.
So the pressure and the fan get set for the surface, and awkward areas get done by hand rather than forced.
The washer lifts most of what is growing in the joints. Anything stubborn gets pulled or scraped out, and the edges get done rather than left as a green line against the lawn. If the jointing sand has washed out of block paving, we will tell you and price re-sanding it.
The run-off gets rinsed down and cleared rather than left as a slurry across the lawn and the borders. It is a small thing, but it is the difference between a clean patio and a clean patio next to a muddy mess.
More of this kind of job
Grass and weeds cut off both edges of the path and the surface blown and washed clear.
Weeds cleared from the joints and the paving washed down so the seating area could be used again.
Steps that had disappeared under growth cleared off and washed back to brick.
Also from these jobs
we received brilliant service from start to finish. they also did an amazing job at tidying up and we are so happy with the results. we wouldn't hesitate to use these guys again! thank you 😊
More than most people expect. Sandstone and concrete both go green and grey with algae so gradually that you stop seeing it, and washing it back shows you the colour the slabs were when they were laid. It is the cheapest thing you can do to a garden that makes an immediate difference.
Not if the pressure is matched to the surface, which is the whole skill of it. Decking, older sandstone and soft brick all get a lower pressure and a wider fan than a concrete drive does. It is the flat-out-on-everything approach that lifts the surface off slabs and furs up decking boards.
Yes, that is part of it. The washer lifts most of it out of the joints and anything stubborn gets pulled or scraped. If the joints have washed out and need re-sanding, tell us and we will price that in.
Once a year for most gardens down here — the South West is damp enough that moss and algae come back. Somewhere shaded or under trees may want it more often. Spring is the popular time, to get the garden ready for summer.
An outside tap is the useful one. We can usually work from a standpipe if you have one and nothing else. We will confirm what we need when we quote so there are no surprises on the day.
Yes, and it is worth doing in that order — cut the garden first, wash the hard surfaces afterwards, so the cuttings and debris are not being walked back over clean slabs.
